In January, I had the great pleasure of reading in the Emerging Writers Reading Series. The brainchild of Toronto writers Mackenzie Wiebe and Emily Kellogg, this season’s readings occurred over Zoom and allowed for nationwide connections between emerging authors and their fans. I got to read with some outstanding humans who I have since noticed are making their names increasingly known on the Canadian literary scene: Iryn Tushabe, Paula Turcotte, and Kathy Mak.
