There’s this little trick my mind plays on my when my work places in a competition: “Oh, it might have just been a fluke.” But with having not one, but two of my poems longlisted for the CBC poetry prize, with over 2700 entries and only 27 poems longlisted, it feels like it really can’t be a fluke. Maybe it’s time to acknowledge that I know how to write a poem, huh?
